Why struggle with your current outdated workflows to develop design documents? You can integrate fabrication level modeling into your current workflow and be more efficient—spending more time on engineering and less time on modeling! The current industry standard for engineering firms that use Revit software involves focusing on the out-of-the-box content. Firms struggle with the limitations around modeling advanced systems in Revit. If used correctly, Fabrication Parts for Revit can eliminate the amount of rework that is generated around using Revit design systems. Avoid Death by a Thousand Cuts: Quantifying and Reducing Background Leakage Using InfoWater Pro

Huge volumes of drinking water are lost to background leakage during distribution. This entails large financial and environmental footprints from extraction, transport, treatment, storage, and pumping. While water models usually simplify leakage to behave as fixed demands, InfoWater Pro software’s new modeling capabilities explicitly incorporate the sensitivity of losses to pressure changes. In this session, we will demonstrate how to easily convert a regular distribution model into one with realistic leakage using a new allocation tool. Both hydraulic and asset pipe information (such as age, number of connections, and material) is used to determine realistic allocations of known leakage amounts per zone to individual elements. Moreover, we will explore how a leakage-aware model can lead to detailed spatiotemporal estimates of water loss under different operating scenarios, and lead to precise quantifications of the economic and hydraulic effects of asset replacement and pressure-control programs.

Lessons Learned from Developing AI Chatbot for Multibillion-Dollar Semiconductor Fabrication Plants

Imagine a mega project that generates nearly 2,000 Revit files in total, and some getting updated in daily basis. The speed and volume of data produced in multi-billion semiconductor fabrication plant project are staggering. Extracting valuable insights from this vast data pool must be effortless and straightforward, enabling owners to communicate effectively with designers and contractors to ensure project success. Samsung Electronics envisioned an AI Chatbot capable of understanding and interpreting project information as the ultimate solution. In this session, we will introduce our journey of developing an AI Chatbot using Autodesk Platform Services (APS) and Amazon Bedrock. Discover the challenges we encountered in implementing multi-agent collaboration for Text-to-SQL and effectively ingesting large amounts of data to feed the Large Language Model (LLM). Additionally, learn how we adapted our approach to make the chatbot truly beneficial for the project.

In this session, we'll discuss how Woodway converts its engineering bill of materials (eBOM) into its manufacturing BOM (mBOM) using the mBOM Editor in Autodesk Fusion Manage software. We'll then show how we partnered with coolOrange to develop a workflow, and which tools we used, to send these BOMs to our enterprise resource planning (ERP).

3D Printing for All: Bridging the Gap Between Makers, Engineers, and Nonengineers at MSF

Difficult and costly importation of equipment. Lack of customized parts. Unavailable spare parts, especially in the remote areas where supply chains may be disrupted. These are some of the daily challenges faced by the staff of MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières—Doctors Without Borders). The 3D Printing for All project aims to democratize access to 3D printing and solve some of those challenges by getting 3D printing in MSF's projects, and developing procedures and guidelines on how to use it safely and efficiently. Describing design needs, context, and technical parameters for a CAD expert to make a design is critical to the production of the products that solve problems in the field. For the most part, the people who have the problems to solve do not have engineering backgrounds—and yet they have to provide precise information. Throughout the implementation of the project, we've experienced this communication gap, learned valuable lessons on how to minimize the number of iterations, and saved material and time involved in putting a product in use.
