As a company that manufactures components and assembles finished products, Repeat Precision must manage data related to all types of items, from raw materials to final assemblies, and the operations to make those products. Information like bills of material, cycle times, routings, and consumption are the building blocks to inventory management, production planning, and production order execution. Worker input for completed operations, downtime, and waste reporting provides insight into manufacturing performance. Insight into the operation is bolstered by various visualizations of information, such as charts and real-time operational status.

Data-driven decision-making is crucial for project success, enabling informed choices and continuous improvement. Platforms like Assemble and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) store valuable data that, when used effectively, can significantly enhance project outcomes. The Power BI connector facilitates seamless data collection and organization from these platforms, allowing for smooth transfer and integration into Power BI for visualization and analysis. Encouraged by Autodesk University Las Vegas 2017’s motto to do “More, Better, With Less,” and knowing the alarming numbers of people around the world who still don’t have homes to live in—especially in countries such as Brazil, which unfortunately still struggles with social problems and poverty—this real Brazilian case will show how we can use technology to change the future. This project used Autodesk products such as Revit software (to design and to extract information), Navisworks software (to check collisions and plan the 4D construction sequence), and BIM 360 Field software (to monitor building processes). With a high-level multidisciplinary team, we were able to assemble a house live at the biggest construction fair in Brazil in a total of 23 work hours. With the spare hour, our team decided to have a classic Brazilian BBQ. The house was assembled—not built—in 24 hours, because most of the components had been prebuilt by the industry, much like how a car is assembled.

HAKI produces and delivers modular scaffolding systems and tailored temporary access solutions to clients and contractors worldwide. The customers achieve ultimate efficiency and safety when assembling and working at height during temporary works, in a variety of challenging industry sectors. The challenge for HAKI was how to go from a product-based business to a more service-based solution business. How to create more value for customers and be ahead of the competition? HAKI decided to invest in digitalization and to offer the customers more value by increasing their digital service offerings. The result is the "HAKI Design Tool" which consists of HAKI Configurator and HAKI BIM. The response from the market has been tremendously good.

Attendees will take away a better understanding of the prefabrication process from start to finish. We'll cover best practices used to provide all information necessary for coordination, ordering, fabrication, and install, as well as start to finish creation of prefabrication build sheets, with workflows from BIM 360 to Revit for model coordination. You’ll be able to better understand the use of Revit custom family creation for prefabrication assembly build sheet creation. Used for hot and cold aisle modules, in-fill strut layout of ceiling grid, parapet stud walls, and interior wall penetrations for a large data center project. We will review generating a detailed quantity take-off based on the coordinated model, to efficiently reduce material waste using an Excel add-in Optimulan. In addition, we will cover status ,inventory tracking and cost control best practices we employed using Autodesk Assemble and Power Bi.

The success of a new product launch relies heavily on the ability of molding thermoplastic parts within specified tolerances and successfully assembling them into a functional product. Building a mold with the correct mold-shrinkage values is crucial for a given plastic material. Currently, a toolmaker guesses the shrinkage value from the range published by a material supplier before cutting steel. Thus, choosing one value at the mid-point of the range results in a part with vastly different shrinkage values in the flow, cross-flow, and transverse directions. Subsequently, many compromises may have to be made in order to qualify the part and approve the tool before routine production. We have been working with Moldflow software to improve and fine-tune the material testing and plastic-part simulation in order to predict accurate shrinkage values to eliminate the guesswork and make more-educated decisions before ordering tools. This session features Moldflow Insight and Moldflow.

As a manufacturer and installer of structural glazing products, custom designed and assembled in an automated factory, Starline Windows is uniquely positioned to work with developers and architects directly within the Revit environment. This creates many advantages and challenges in working across organizations and various internal departments. I have worked extensively with Autodesk and their Partners to implement a design process at Starline Windows that represents our product to the highest level of excellence within our shop drawings, while simultaneously creating machine data files and material managment information. I will share my experience in identifying oportunities for digital transformation and process improvement, and I will speak to implementing change across organizational boundaries. I will discuss how to bridge from a modeling environment to a data centric solution while still maintaining a "data entry once" approach for efficient, agile project delivery.

The new timeline based workflows and snapshot views allow you to easily control exploded views, assemble animations and viewports so you can get the exact views you need for your technical documentation. This class will also cover best practices to speedup the workflow.

Construction Cloud is today being used across a large range of projects globally. This session will demonstrate a number of use cases, including how PlanGrid is helping build and maintain railways, Assemble is being used to quantify materials in dams, BuildingConnected is being used to source subcontractors for road projects, and BIM 360 software is being used to manage complex infrastructure projects. The industry is seeing a huge increase in the use of cloud-based construction management platforms, and this class will show you how to introduce and implement Construction Cloud software from Autodesk across the business and inspire your team to use it. The presentation will cover our journey and the processes we implemented to roll Construction Cloud, as well as a case study that demonstrates the use of the platform for coordination and in the field. We were able to gain a 50% time savings on coordination and reporting by using BIM 360 Document Management and BIM 360 Model Coordination, and drive efficiencies on-site with Field Management, Assets, and Assemble. Like a recipe or business card, items represent things within your business. Items represent the components that the company manages, assembles, sells, and manufactures. Autodesk Vault Professional software introduces the ability to generate items and manage an item master. Within this class you will learn what items are and how to provide both engineering staff and non-engineering (no access to a CAD application) with access to the data. We will cover how to issue new stock numbers and build intelligent naming schemes. You will learn how to attach your CAD data smartly with proper property (metadata) information mapping. You will also learn how to provide a mechanism for exchange of data between Vault and enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing resource planning (MRP), and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
