This class will discuss the facility datafication process developed by CASE to help owners generate the data they need to optimally manage their buildings. By aligning information technology with operational processes and advanced Revit software techniques, owners and operators are enabled to effectively communicate and collaborate through a model-based Building Information Solution. This course will also discuss the integration of third-party software and customizations to enhance the datafication process, increase informed decision-making, and optimize the performance of a building portfolio.

FM:Systems® Building Information Modeling (BIM) integration software enables architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), and facilities professionals to connect Revit®-based software models to a cloud-based system to help them manage space, plan maintenance, and more. This class explores the opportunity for AEC professionals and building owners and operators to partner on a BIM lifecycle approach to managing facilities. We demonstrate how to create and maintain a live bidirectional integration between Revit software and the FM:BIM cloud-based system. According to GRESB's 2022 data (the global ESG benchmark for real-estate financial products), 2025 is the estimated average expiration date for the market attractiveness of offices worldwide in terms of meeting CRREM (Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor) energy efficiency standards. In other words, as we move toward net-zero emissions by 2050, the market value of a building that does not achieve the required energy efficiency rating is likely to decrease. It's vital the building sector adopts circular economy principles, moving away from the linear "take, make, dispose" model toward a more sustainable and regenerative approach that prioritizes resource efficiency, reuse, and recycling. Digital twins support the operational phase of a building and develop into digital logbooks, which is crucial at end of life because its help ensure safe and sustainable decommissioning/repurposing, preserves valuable information, and supports compliance with regulations and standards.

Autodesk Research has been working on the display of building performance data in a rich 3D environment since 2009. During the last 2 years this development effort has shifted to make heavy use of the Forge platform to integrate the display of sensor data with high-quality, as-built BIM. The project has also evolved beyond the initial focus on building performance to explore use-cases in construction and factory management. This session looks at some of the lessons Autodesk Research has learned during the development of Dasher 360, with a particular focus on the benefits found from using the Forge platform to reinvent a heavyweight desktop client for the cloud. We will talk about how tools such as Dasher 360 can integrate data from a variety of sources, creating compelling, web-based tools that dramatically expand the use of design data. While the session will focus largely on the development of Dasher 360, and therefore be of interest to programmers and software development managers' it will highlight how Forge has been used alongside advanced data visualisation techniques to create a tool for facilities managers and building owners/operators. People from various backgrounds will therefore find the session to be of interest.

Using proprietary worktech data, we've analyzed global trends in workspace and physical asset use over the past several quarters to identify emerging patterns in operations and occupant behaviors. The analysis uncovers four preeminent tensions businesses are navigating in today's workplaces. Session participants will learn what changes are occurring across three core regions (Americas, EMEA, and APAC), and how organizations are leveraging this information alongside dynamic building models to meet goals at all phases of the building life cycle.

For a facility manager and building owner, the information embedded in a Revit software / Building Information Modeling (BIM) model represents the most tangible connection to the collective knowledge gained by the Design Team, the constructor, and past operators of a facility. However, the technology, change, and confusion surrounding BIM in the facility management (FM) industry is making it very difficult for a facility manager to navigate. The panel—led by facilities and FM technology experts from IFMA's Information Technology Council—will lead the audience through the BIM value proposition for owners and provide tools for assessing if BIM is the correct tool for their specific operations. This will include a discussion about why BIM, at this point in time, may not be the correct solution. Separately, for those who are ready for BIM, we will discuss how to adequately specify the needs of an organization related to BIM. For some, this may include developing a roadmap toward BIM aspirations.

What use would a tire company have for construction management software? We had to ask ourselves that same question at first. Unlike most who work in Autodesk Construction Cloud, we aren't paying our bills through the construction of buildings; we're investing in the buildings. We manage the entire project lifecycle of our facilities from conception to operations. Tires are our product, but we need a place to build those tires. We need to maintain that facility, manage our assets, and, most importantly, we need to transform our manufacturing footprint. All of these things need to happen, all while product continues to flow out the door. We produce tires despite the building process, we don't build despite the production of our products. We hope to share a different perspective of how an owner and operator takes advantage of Autodesk Construction Cloud and the rest of Autodesk's portfolio to make a successful process.

The challenges for an owner-operator of one of the world's busiest airports are tremendous, involving multiple disciplines, sectors, and business functions. This class looks at the solutions, products, and workflows delivered in key areas—including aircraft tracking, stands management, a works approval interface, asset management integration, and supply chain model management—during a recent engagement at Heathrow Airport, London. We demonstrate how the solution, which was designed for mobile devices including Apple® iPads®, allows Heathrow access to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other key business data in the field. It also links the aircraft and stands status to infrastructure and asset information from IBM® Maximo® and a works approval solution. From incident handling and airline management to regulatory reports and business workflows, we show how the complexities of managing airport systems can be as demanding as a running a mini-city.

As a new player in the electric vehicle market, Rivian Automotive needs to move fast. In addition to building a new product line of electrics trucks, SUVs and delivery vans they need to build the facilities infrastructure to support.
