Construction and engineering professionals get hands-on training on how to transition from a LOD 300 to LOD 350 model for enhanced construction utilization. This lab and panel discussion demonstrates how to take full advantage of Revit Structure software models using parts and assembly tools, rebar, parameter strategies, and advanced families to extend BIM into construction using Navisworks® Manage software to schedule, estimate, and use the Revit Structure model for shop drawings. We discuss the value of the engineering model and potential for contractors to use it in planning, sequencing, animation, location, detailed shop drawings, fabrication, and estimation. We will show how BIM engineers can successfully work with owners, architects, general contractors, and subcontractors during the preconstruction phase of any project in order to coordinate scheduling and procurement, reduce requests for information, improve construction sequencing, and much more. This couldn’t be possible if BIM Engineers didn't use multiple Autodesk, Inc., products, and we will demonstrate how these products’ interoperability enabled us to successfully coordinate with the entire Project Team from inception to completion. These products combined enabled us to create a construction model that was not only used for coordination of all trades, but was also used to generate constructability drawings for the field. Watch as we demonstrate how to successfully create these drawings, and we’ll also show how a unique collaborative process and Autodesk products can improve any project’s return on investments.

BIM as both a process and a type of software has been utilized for architectural and engineering design and documentation for some time now, and its use continues to spread to more facets of the AEC industry. This class will focus on the BIM process as it applies now more than ever to both the civil and construction trades. This class will cover basic use of Dynamo software with Revit software for model information analysis when starting from scratch. The workflow that we'll use can help you understand in a practical way how to analyze your model information. Revit models hold a lot of information and a lot of ways to change it. The practice of modifying everything is also the weak point for construction, cost, and management. Fortunately, Dynamo can help us to review the information, check that everything is coherent with the construction needs, and have some filters that can assure model quality. We'll cover basic Dynamo topics, such as selection, extraction, and lists, and we'll link with Microsoft Excel documents, sort, group, extract and insert parameters, and visualize them on the model. And we'll review some Dynamo examples of scripts used for some projects.

Building information modeling (BIM) plays a pivotal role in design, construction, and operations, integrating multidisciplinary data to paint the full picture of the project for greater visibility and decision making. That picture starts to get blurry and unreliable when data isn't accurate or relevant. How do you cut through all that noise to deliver a usable and trustworthy model / data set? Every model goes through distinct phases: authoring, preparation, and actual use. The model can have many downstream uses, but for it to be of value, the model itself must be prepped and the rich data within organized. We have assembled innovative virtual design and construction (VDC) leaders at Gray, Metromont, and Accenture to share how they approach complex models to ensure quality and data-driven deliverables. They will share the processes they have in place to perform QC checks of the models for construction preparedness, and they'll discuss data curation from models and field data to prepare for AI workflows to inform future projects.

In today’s fast-paced construction industry, bridging the gap between real-world conditions and digital-project environments is key to achieving accuracy, minimizing errors, and streamlining project delivery. Reality capture technologies, such as laser scanning, allow teams to document site conditions with precision. However, turning that raw data into actionable models and coordinating them across disciplines can be a challenge without the right tools and workflow. This lab will help you to set up a practical workflow that integrates ReCap Pro 2026, Revit, and the Modeling module in Autodesk Construction Cloud to enable efficient scan-to-BIM and Modeling processes. It will demonstrate how point cloud data can be used not just for modeling, but also for coordination and clash detection, using mesh representations and cloud collaboration.

This class is a high-level overview of what Building Information Modeling (BIM) and virtual design and construction (VDC) are and how they work in the construction process. We will talk about BIM for estimating, BIM for coordination, BIM for marketing and logistics, and BIM and site work. We will also discuss laser scanning, 4D simulations, as-builts, and some future capabilities.

This class will look at a case study of the process used to collect data from design through construction to hand over models with embedded data for building operations and maintenance. With 4 projects and 2 million square feet of floor space, we needed to develop a process to link the design model to construction and then to as-built models. Follow the round trip of data as we take design data from Revit software to BIM 360 Glue software to BIM 360 Field software back to the model for project handover. Learn the process of collecting data during construction and linking data from Procore to BIM 360 Field with the Forge platform. Understand the steps involved to gather and deliver data-rich models for facilities to use in operation and maintenance.

This presentation aims to demonstrate the ease of the Autodesk Construction Cloud setup and what an administrator (Qatar Rail) needs to do in order to set up and manage Autodesk Construction Cloud to address increased requirements and responsibilities, as well as additional interface between each civil design-and-build project and system integrator. We will showcase the process of how Qatar Rail selected the preferred Autodesk Construction Cloud setup option, showing the pros and cons of each. And we will demonstrate management of the megadata within a cloud-based environment. We’ll also examine the establishment of a BIM policy that mandates BIM use on all future projects. And we'll cover the challenges associated with BIM implementation. Furthermore, you’ll learn how BIM can be an enabler for Construction Modeling. And you’ll see how it’s used for the operation and maintenance of Qatar Rail assets.

A builder's construction technology manager will demonstrate how Autodesk Collaborate supported by Autodesk add-ins can be used as a shared on-demand syncing tool for teams that still favor Navisworks Manage to run clash detection between a diverse mix of trade partners working both in and out of the cloud. Autodesk technical experts will provide supplementary advice along the way to show how teams can make use of new features in the Autodesk Construction Cloud environment to take this strategy to the next level by removing roadblocks seen in previous versions of the product.
