In doing this, we'll be able to keynote these elements to maintain a consistent noting procedure, and be able to send this information out to our spec writer so even the detailed items aren't missed in the specs. If keynoting isn't your choice, we'll also cover how to tag these elements so that there's consistent notation of the details on every project.

We'll see how you can still use those details right in your Revit projects straight from AutoCAD. We'll explore how we can bring those existing details into Revit and have them be referenced correctly in our projects as if they were created there. We'll even look (when you have time) at how to Revit-ize your AutoCAD details to start building a true Revit detail library. So, if not being able to use your details is holding you back from switching to Revit—or you're just not sure how to do it—don't let that stop you. You don't have to throw them out—they're still good.

In this hands-on lab, you’ll get an overview of the AutoCAD 2019 Architecture toolset—specifically the details feature—and you’ll learn how to make your own custom detail components. Once we make a custom detail component, we’ll use AutoCAD software’s native Annotation Scaling tools to complete a real-world detail. This lab will help you supercharge your detailing productivity.
