In this presentation, we will explore the integration capabilities of the Autodesk Flow Production Tracking platform, focusing on how they connect with various tools to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. We’ll start by discussing the ready-to-use integrations available for Flow Production Tracking, including popular tools from Autodesk and third parties. These integrations facilitate smooth data exchange and operational efficiency. Next, we will cover customizing these tools, including an overview of the hook approach, followed by the development of a new app. We’ll then discuss creating Automation, Integration, & Customizations in Flow Production Tracking to trigger processes based on events. We’ll analyze the tools and frameworks available, examining event logging, the event daemon framework, webhooks, and action menu items. Thanks to the Flow Production Tracking API and Automation, Integration, & Customization features, we can demonstrate cloud functionality in Autodesk Platform Services, integrating 3D visualization, geometry optimization, mesh checking, or simulation.

Traditionally, firms have developed and deployed Revit Add-ins using C# to implement Automation, Integration, & Customizations and custom capabilities in Revit. Autodesk now offers the  Automation, Integration, & Customization API, part of the Autodesk Platform Service (APS), which provides access to the Automation, Integration, & Customization capabilities of Autodesk’s core products, including the Revit API. This session will assist developers in transitioning from the Revit API to the Automation, Integration, & Customization API. The Automation, Integration, & Customization API introduces a new workflow that allows developers to access the full Revit DB API without needing a Revit desktop installation. This enables seamless creation, extraction, and modification of Revit data. This workflow facilitates the creation of custom Revit families, data extraction, and more, without the need to open Revit models. We outline from start to finish how to convert a Revit Add-in to Design Automation, Integration, & Customization. This includes using Postman, managing References, Access Tokens, AppBundles, publishing, and running WorkItems.

This session will explore Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Workato’s Autodesk Construction Cloud Connect integration, enhancing project efficiency and accuracy through Automation, Integration, & Customization. Using a real-world example from Sener’s metro line extension project in Canada, custom Workato recipes streamline file sharing and deliverable management. Automation, Integration, & Customizations include batch file renaming, transferring files across complex folder structures based on metadata, and integrating SharePoint with Autodesk Construction Cloud. These innovations improve collaboration between Sener and its customer, leading to smoother workflows, time and cost savings, and better control over project data. The session will showcase Automation, Integration, & Customizations simplifying project management processes by automatically renaming and organizing files using custom attributes and internal review and bridge workflows. Autodesk Construction Cloud Connect (Workato) tools reduce manual effort and minimize errors. Notably, the savings in this project are estimated to exceed 5,000 hours per year.

The tool identifies relevant elements in the model, generates a structured list, and automatically determines optimal hanger locations based on predefined rules. It also performs clash detection to resolve coordination issues, and it provides detailed reports. By eliminating manual intervention, this solution enables up to 95% time savings, while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless project execution.
